It's YOU! Hello! Nice to see you! Here you will find stuff about living a creative life in country Australia. I create with watercolour, pen, collage, mixed media and photos. I teach, hosts workshops, collect, dream. I love cheese, travel, my garden, faffing, colour and whimsy. I am crap at time management, and do way too many things, but it is all good. Oh yes, all pictures and photos on here by me too, just saying.

So I Went to Canberra... and I saw...

So I Went to
Canberra...

So I went to Canberra,
and I saw...

...Black Mountain...well a glimpse of it as we sped over bridges, and through trees...

...displays by my Instagram friend, Dee 'PICTURED THOUGHTS', and the amazing stylist,MEGAN MORTON (link!) at the
South American themed cafe...

...marvelled atthe amaze balls SKYGARDEN, at the Australian National Gallery, by James Tyrell which both hubby and self thought was pretty fab...

....was quite partial to this beautiful gum leaf and the ghost of where it once lay...

....swooned once again over MAILLOL's divine and strong sculpture in the ANG sculpture garden (love his work, went to his gallery in Paris many years ago)...

...continued to swoon at the lush lush lush, womb-like red carpet, sumptuously covering all surfaces at the entrance to the lecture rooms at the ANG...

...was tempted to, and did - snap a pic of this kinetic piece (naughty me...got in trouble from the security guard!)...

...fell in love with concrete and its textures, its colour and its brutality...

...and smiled and did a little internal happy dance when I found this mushroom  growing quietly in the mulch. It had a little buddy too..and I very, very tenderly picked them, cradled them in a tissue, and took them back to the motel and later photographed them there. The funny thing is, I had drawn a mushroom the night before, doodling as we watched telly...Okay, they are not exactly the same, but I liked the serendipity of it...

..and on the very last day, we went to the
Australian War Memorial
shed quiet tears, and solemnly thought about those who gave their life for us.On a beautiful, glorious Autumn day, clear blue skies and a little chill... we then drove home, reflecting how lucky I am.

So...2 days,with hubby, sans kids,mini-break, done, dusted, enjoyed. To do again. Soon.
